some other fan art

Looooong ago, I wrote a Superman story that never had a picture of Superman in it, as a piece for a creative writing class. This was an illustration that went along with it.

The above are quick, simple characters I did for some online car ads done in flash for a dealership in Denver, CO. The ads aren't done yet, so I don't have permission to post the finished art, but these are the three people I had appear in what would be a flash cartoon of them (which so far is very cool, and I'm jealous I lack that skill).

robot assassins

This is another shot of my strong-man, Lance. I've actually finally started a redo on this piece, based on thoughts and suggestions from others. Moving the right hand to get a better grip on the ripped-off arm, and making the left arm look like it's actually beginning to crush the skull of the cyborg. Still though, I took the facial expression directly off of a photo reference of my younger brother, so it's always been one of my favorites.

The second main character in my novice comic attempt. right now his name's Gavin, though that may change. He holds a sort of telekinesis, but his power hasn't evolved much more beyond that.

the strong man

This is a rendering of my character Lance. He's the "strong man" in my story. He can fly, lift heavy things, take a beating, crap like that. I like playing with his hair, giving it a sort of anime feel, as it's always floating this way or that, as a reflection of his power of flight. I've been playing with the idea of giving him some sort of energy based power. Something that's always around him, and builds up within him, where he has to have a release of it, or it causes some sort of detramental effect on his person.

female character

First one from a random sketch, the other a potential cover design. I really hate the ear on the profile view, and truthfully, that part of the anatomy has never been a strong point in my attempts. The mouth on the second one is a little small, and in later drawings, that's been corrected, but this second 3/4 shot was actually the first drawing I ever had of Ralph, which is this character's name.

other random character art

This is the same character, Graham Montross, as the previous guy lighting the smoke.

He's a cop (no kidding? Is that why it says "police" on his vest?) in my super hero world, with no special powers, and quite a few vices.

art from my two year old comic plan

I've had a comic book idea now, for around two years. I've lots of character designs drawn, some stories written, but there's still hasn't been enough time in my days to lock down and begin to actually finish pages. The next few posts over the next few days will show some of the character designs I have for it.
